Brugge (The Venice of the North), 100 km from Brussels
Brugge is a small town in Flanders with lovely canals and cobblestone streets. It is filled with tourists and has a Gothic bell tower with a narrow spiral staircase.
The Church of Our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk), having the second tallest brickwork tower in the world, dates from the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries. Inside you can see a white marble sculpture of Madonna and the Child created by Michelangelo around 1504.
It's rare to have a sunny day in Brugge, but it can happen..
